Rafiy Okefolahan was born in Porto Novo, Benin. Nomadic artist, his career took him from Togo to Nigeria and various West African countries, before he moved to Senegal for two years at the National School of Arts in Dakar.
His paintings explore the hidden worlds underneath the human consciousness. His textured canvases are spontaneous and saturated with color and sometimes text.
Highly influenced by the news, he conceives his production as a way to fight against forgetfulness.
Over the years, the artist has exhibited in France, Spain, and Belgium and his works became part of public collections in those countries.
